Chibi is "small" iirc in Japanese. The purpose of this project is to have juggling balls that teach juggling. If that ends up impossible it will be in the minimum juggling balls that have wireless communication and acceleration sensors and some leds.
This project was conceived years ago (2009) based on the chibi boards from freaklabs (Akiba) while visiting Tokyo Hackerspace.
Some interesting things that now exist:
- conductive thread. You can sow leds into cloth juggling balls.
What the project has revolved around initially was a new designed small form factor board containing an MCU, Wireless communications (initially zigbee like 2.4GHz) and accelerometers. This is still missing although there are plenty of available boards that would not require any design.
This project is complemented by the OculusJuggling project (another WIP).
